FAQs

We’re perfectionists here at The Lash Lab UK. You can expect us to be meticulous, concentrated and precise. From design through application, the process will last approximately 90-120 minutes and infills can take 30-90 minutes depending on what infill style you choose to have.

Most clients are good candidates for lash extensions, no matter what their concerns. However, the style our artists will help you create may vary depending on your natural lashes. If you’re really concerned, always ask your lash tech prior to starting the treatment. If there are any problems we will consult you.

Ouch!! You poor thing! Contact us immediately so we can remove your old extensions! We’ve rectified work by other salons many times, often when a client is in immense pain or discomfort from improper application. We will happily remove your old lash extensions, and if you wish, apply a new set. However we do NOT infill other lash techs work!

Yes, please! Make sure your eyelashes are squeaky clean – no traces of eye makeup – prior to your appointment. Use an oil-free make up remover if possible, and rinse well.
Any traces of oil or makeup (especially mascara!) will create a barrier between the adhesive and your natural lashes, causing your extensions to drop off prematurely.

To keep your lashes looking gorgeous as long as possible, we recommend you follow your Lash Techs aftercare advice. The key points:
Avoid contact with water or steam for 24-48 hours after your appointment to allow the glue to cure. The longer you wait, the better! If you must shower, clean around your eyes and avoid getting water onto your lashes as this can weaken the bond and cause your extensions to fall off. CLEAN YOUR LASHES – We cannot stress this enough!! You wash the rest of your body so why leave out your eyes? Pick up one of our lash cleansers after your appointment to make sure you’re covered for life!

Eyelash extensions aren’t dangerous if your technician is following the correct methods and using the proper materials. Before you head to your appointment, ask the salon about the ingredients in the lash adhesive they use. If they can’t answer your question, cancel the appointment (you don’t want inexperienced people sticking things to your eyelids), and if they say the glue contains formaldehyde (a known eye irritant that can cause redness, irritation, and itchy, swollen eyelids), definitely cancel the appointment. It may cost you a little more, but it’s best to choose a salon that uses glues made with butyl cyanoacrylate and octyl cyanoacrylate instead of formaldehyde—they’re less toxic to the eye area.

Having I-woke-up-like-this, selfie-ready lashes every single day, all day with minimal effort, is every girls dream, right?! Permanent eyelash extensions are a year-round ‘must have’! With our Lash extensions, you’ll look gorgeous 24/7! When you wake up, after your workout, in the office, on the beach and even after a night out!
Lash extensions draw more attention to your eyes, If you’re into the idea of, IDK, waking up with full, long, dark lashes ever single day, you should definitely give it a whirl, we promise you will never look back!
One lash at a time, we’ll frame your eyes with a bespoke, custom luxurious set. Single strands of high quality synthetic lashes are applied onto your natural lashes 1 by 1 to enhance and extend . Our lash artists are a collective of perfectionists, using a variety of extensions to build the right volume, length and curl for your unique style.

With the correct care, your extensions will last 6-8 weeks. You should expect to shed most of them throughout the growth cycle of your natural lashes. We recommend coming for infills every 2-3 weeks depending on your lash growth cycle. We don’t want your extensions to begin to look sparse.
Be warned, lash extensions are incredibly delicate – so give them the TLC they deserve! Exposure to steam or extremely hot water in the first 48 hours, not cleaning them and touching, picking, or rubbing your lashes can weaken the adhesive bond on your extensions.

Infills are like touch-ups for your extensions. Performed regularly, they’ll keep your lashes looking full and luscious. You may need them more or less often depending on how well you look after your extensions and your natural lash cycle, and the style of your initial set.
Typically, clients get infills every 2-3 weeks, however some clients prefer to replace their full set every 6-8 weeks.

No! When properly applied, lash extensions should NEVER hurt! Extensions are applied to your natural lashes, not touching the skin, so you shouldn’t feel a thing. With your eyes closed, you may even find the treatment so relaxing that you fall asleep! Well, you wouldn’t be the first to take a Lash nap!
How should I expect my extensions to feel?
To the untrained eye, no one will know you’re cheating on your natural lashes. And your secret is safe with us! Gone are the days of standing at the mirror building up mascara at 7am… Your lashes will be clean, bespoke to you and just simply… perfect
You should not feel any pain or discomfort in or around your eyes after the treatment. We’ve seen clients after previous dangerous or poorly applied lash applications performed elsewhere, and they have experienced clumping, pain, discomfort, or even permanent damage to their own natural lashes – this is NOT normal!

You might want Kardashian-level lashes, but that doesn’t mean your eyes can handle them. The type of lashes you can get all depends on the length and strength of your natural lashes, wearing lashes that are too long or too thick for your lashes can actually cause damage in the long run, so you need to make sure your extensions aren’t too much longer or thicker than your natural lashes.
When it comes to density, curl, and length of your extensions, you’ll want to work with your tech to figure out which is the best option for you. A good lash technician will take your face shape, bone structure, and natural lashes into consideration when helping you decide on a lash look.

Nope. You’ll want to show up to your appointment as the natural beauty you are, with clean skin and no eye makeup. That means absolutely no eyeshadow, eyeliner, and/or mascara. Anything on your lids or lashes could affect how your extensions turn out, so definitely make sure to wash your face beforehand.
